In reading we have been reading a series.The books we have read so far are called A Paradise Called Texas and Willow Creek Home.The main characters are Mina, a 12 year old girl with a lot of spirit,Minchen(Mama), and Ernst Jordan (Papa).These 3 go on an exciting adventure.But sadly,in the middle of the book Mama dies.After that Mina and Papa join forces with the Kaufmanns for a better life.In the end Papa comes home from work and is very sick.Mina goes for Lisette a family friend to go and watch over Papa.While she watches over him Mina goes to see Chief Custaleta the Indian chief.Custaleta sees that a shaman goes to help Papa and all is well.In Willow Creek Home Papa marries Lisette and Mina gets a new mother.In the middle you find out Lisette is pregnant.Then during Christmas Mina gets a Comanche horse named Tucan.One day Mina rides Tucan to deliver cookies to the other Willow Creek families.On her way back she hears a Comanche.She warns the other folks and Daniel a fellow creeker (also known as Mina’s crush)stays the rest of night.Later in the story Lisette has a baby boy.She names him Peter.Then the Comanches become to much to handle.So,Mina and the men go to form an alliance with the Lipan tribe of indians.There Mina sees an old friend.It is the indian Amaya.The girls ride to look pout point and Mina is captured by Comanches.Mina makes it back to Papa and all is well.My favorite part of the book is when baby Peter was born.It was my favorite because I really love babies. I really recomend these books because they are full of adventure.
